Opening Thursday 16 April, 2026, 6-8pm
Friday 17 April - Sunday 10 May

Having a deep love and appreciation of the natural world, Penelope’s work seeks to reflect the beauty of the environment in an abstract way using ceramic materials in the hand-built form.

Generally, her work features various clays and texturing and decorative processes, including textured and painted surfaces. It seeks to represent both environmental beauty and environmental heartache. There is a strong, implicit environmental protection theme - which tries to challenge us all to explore and question our relationship with, and perception of, the beautiful and wild natural world.

This work represents the beauty of these snakes (typically Eastern Browns) so commonly seen in Canberra suburbs and reserves.

Penny supports the work of and is a volunteer at the Canberra Snake Tracking Project.
