β€œWater is the glue that holds life together, yet it is odourless, colourless and tasteless, but in different environments it will absorb the colours and respond to the elements with incredible diversity, therefore it creates a massive amount of visual material for anyone who wishes to take the time to look and see the fascinating detail of the liquid world, around us.

This has been the inspiration for my recent body of work, a gentle transition from the fluidity and colour of clouds, to the abundant detail, colour and β€œdancing” forms and patterns found in water. Using the luminescent quality of oil paint helps me to portray water as a complex, natural element reflecting this movement and light of the environment that surrounds it.”- Carmel McCrow
