Echoes of Nature and Self presents a curated selection of Smitha’s artworks created over several years, spanning landscapes, animals, and expressive human faces. Though diverse in subject matter, these works share a common emotional thread: each piece reflects an inner state through an external form. Using mixed media, textured surfaces, and atmospheric colour, Smitha explores how nature, creatures, and human expression mirror the quiet tensions, resilience, and beauty within us. This exhibition invites viewers to experience the subtle dialogue between the outer world and the inner self.

Smitha Dudaga is a Canberra‑based contemporary artist working across acrylics, oils, and mixed media. Her practice spans landscapes, animals, and expressive human faces, unified by a focus on emotional resonance and textured visual storytelling. Smitha’s work explores how external subjects — the quiet presence of nature, the character of animals, and the depth of human expression — can reflect inner emotional states. Through layered surfaces, atmospheric colour, and symbolic detail, she creates artworks that invite introspection and connection.
She has exhibited across Canberra and New South Wales and won the Oil/Acrylic category at the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show in 2012. Smitha also teaches art to children and adults, fostering creativity and confidence within her community. Her background in mixed‑media experimentation informs her distinctive approach, blending traditional techniques with contemporary materials to create works that feel tactile, emotive, and alive.
