In this exhibition of innovative digital photographic art a group of women photographers demonstrates their ways of seeing the world. They bring their individual and personal points of view to their art practices and photograph subjects that have personal meaning.

This collection of work shows interest in traditionally feminine roles. Women are often the custodians of family history who pass values and stories to younger generations while also being concerned with issues of ageing and decay; transience and the preservation of relevance. The group seeks to explore and interpret the world and to tell personal stories through photography. The subject matter is diverse; intimate landscapes, the natural world, families and people, women as pioneers and farmers in harsh environments; yet there is a common thread of interest in humanity and environments both constructed and natural.

Photographically, the group members employ realism, deconstruction, compositing of images and photocollage, referencing the traditionally female crafts of nature journaling, scrapbooking, stitching and embroidery. As women they are interested in subjects that may tend to be relegated from mainstream art practice, perhaps because of their perceived lack of relevance to the male gaze.
