On the Map, is an exhibition of studioMAP young art student's paintings, illustrations and drawings, displayed as a kaleidoscope of individual visual artworks. Also included is large photo wall, comprising hundreds of photographs of students and their artworks, over the years.

On the Map, is part of studioMAP's thirty year anniversary celebrations. studioMAP joined M16 Artspace in 2007. Founding artist, educator and director of studioMAP, Jeffree Skewes had an inspired vision to establish a community access art studio dedicated to young people. Using the analogy of a map he declared in1995, 'a map is a visual device used to find one's way...'

Skewes went on to base the ethos and a curriculum, designed to support that notion. At studioMAP, you can indeed find your way artistically with a map!

After thirty years, studioMAP is well and truly on the map! studioMAP teaches painting, drawing and illustration classes for children and teens, supported by the enduring Art-with-a-Map curriculum. Students attend weekly classes based on school terms.
