Charred Landscape II is a reflection on the severe climatic conditions that have impacted the natural environment in recent years.

Through this collection of small clay objects, Pennington’s exploration of pattern and texture, that underpins her ceramic work, has been pushed further to evoke the remains of a scorched and dry landscape, blackened from fire and burnt to ash.Utilising a variety of coloured clay bodies and textural materials to coil , Pennington builds each piece carefully by hand.
